When we put thing into the right context, the world changes because suddenly our current condition is no longer our main concern. I assume most of you have arms and legs, and right about now you feel a little MORE blessed. Well, that’s context. The key is to learn how to use context to not only short-circuit terrible feelings and emotions, but also how to use  it as a “mind hack” to get the most out of ourselves.

Pause for a minute and think about your life. Think about where you are mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Bring to mind all the things that are important to you. Maybe it’s family, friends, money, your big screen T.V., or even the Dallas Cowboys. It doesn’t matter as long as it contributes to your happiness and wellbeing. Once you have in your mind everything that means something to you, ask yourself this question.

Would I Give My All To Keep These Things In My Life?

There’s only two answers: yes or no. Let’s start with the good news. If you said yes, then you just admitted that you’re willing to give MORE to keep these things in your life. I say more, because if we’re being real – right now, you’re most likely not giving all you’ve got to keep these things in your life.

In fact, most of us have things in our lives that we cherish despite the fact that we work very little or not at all to keep them. Case in point: how hard do you work, on a day in, day out basis, to cherish your family and loved ones? I’m not talking about going to work to support them or showing up.
